We were standing on the pier right at night,When the colors of purple and orange light. And the sounds are those of the setting sun, And the air feels cool, another day done.
The sun’s final stand, orange pulsating beams Cast bright hues on the land, as if in dream. When to my wonder a cloud passed on by, Our sun now a cheeseburger in the sky!
I looked to you, and you looked out to sea, Licked your lips and said to me ‘I’m hungry.’ And ‘I think the sun is feeding the day!’ And ‘the horizon’s tucking it away!’
So we stayed on our pier long after dark, Feasting our eyes on satisfied delight.
