2015 is shaping up to be an exciting year. I've co-founded and am participating in Keys to Freeze, a 9,000 mile unsupported bicycle tour from the Florida Keys to Deadhorse, Alaska. My college roommate, Brady Lawrence, and I came up with the trip last October and it’s finally coming to fruition … it’s been amazing watching it grow from just an idea into a real organization with a mission.
The past few months especially have been exciting - we've developed a relationship with the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) and are going to be benefiting the national parks of America by participating in conservation projects across the nation and raising money for the NPCA's Climate Ride as one of their independent groups.
Our group is an eclectic one – Brady’s one of two cinematographers hoping to produce a documentary of the trip, and I’m working to write a novel about the experiences along the road. We also boast a nurse, an anthropologist, and a nuclear decontaminator.
It's been an exciting journey so far, and we haven't even left the East Coast yet. Once we get rolling I'll be sharing updates through our website Journal.
