about Heather Scarboro
Heather (they/them) graduated from UNC-Pembroke's MEd. Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in 2013. They are a licensed LCMHC, LCAS, and NCC. Heather's specialty focus has been treating Dissociative Disorders, specifically, Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Heather, in addition to their clinical work and advocacy to end stigma of DID, they are an active musician in the Kirtan Bliss Band as singer/songwriter/guitarist, as well as writing music as a therapeutic outlet. They have been an advocate for dissociative disorders since their own diagnosis 20 years ago. Heather is an active member of ISST-D, as well as An Infinite Mind (a non-profit dedicated to resources and psycho-education for persons and supports managing DID.
